Will Writing Service

A Will is a legally binding document that expresses a person’s wishes as to how they would like their estate (property and assets) to be handled upon their death. We understand that discussing such an inevitability is difficult for both you and your family and our Wills and Probate team are here to support you every step of the way.

If you pass away without a Will (intestate) there is no guarantee that your intended wishes will be carried out which can cause unnecessary distress for your loved ones that you leave behind. Your estate could pass to someone who you do not wish to benefit from your estate, rather than the people that are important to you.

You will need to consider the following for a basic Will:

  • Who will be your executor(s)? An Executor is a person named in your Will that you have chosen to deal with your estate once you have passed away.

  • Who will you leave your personal belongings to?

  • Whether you would like to leave anything to charity?

  • If you have children that are under the age of 18 years, you may wish to consider appointing a legal guardian.

  • Who would you like to leave the residue of your estate to?

  • If your circumstances change in the future, it is easy to change the provisions in your Will. You can make simple amendments by adding a codicil or by re-writing your Will, so long as you have mental capacity to do so.
